Unfortunately, due to the flu, I could not attend the meeting this afternoon. But I found it very interesting to read the content and extremely important topic. The professor did not realize that, even for the first year we can make a difference. There are lessons in which we are all in silence and stare at the professor almost open-mouthed (eg. Gulisano professor of anatomy, it seems an actor on stage, takes us completely) and yet others at which chatter or worse, we study other materials. I think the signal that hits us the lesson we can see from a particular glaring: recorders. At the beginning of a lesson they almost always turn on, but he feels in the classroom a noisy wave of "Click" when we begin to feel bored and do not even need to waste the battery of the recorder. I'm not saying that the professor did not love their subject, but perhaps, as it was written in the text, the problem is that they do not know how to communicate, how to engage. The role of professor of medicine is even more important because not only have to teach to cure the disease, but also the patient. Their behavior will train the doctors of tomorrow and need to be aware of their responsibilities, particularly with the challenges of today and the temptation to fall prey to a house farmacetica or remunerative work without principles. Then there is the appearance of new technologies that require a doctor who will always have to innovate, develop and agree to withdraw some of its considerations. A mentor is one who has to enable the future physician to act well in front of certain choices. Well, what about? Prof. really surprised us this morning! And enjoyable! Also because today was one of those days and dark gray, those where you're tired and you fail to see why what you're doing. You feel like a veil before, you wake up at 6.30 get one free bus and go to class to hear for the millionth time the meaning of "amphipathic" (You were to vomit!) sense of ownership in everything you do. Then, suddenly, M'illumino of immense in every sense of the word. The veil is gone, and thanks to those guys back at least to me is clear because I am here and do what I do, have broken our sad day for making us laugh and reminding us that people, especially doctors, can do much more than make a diagnosis. Treating the patient, not the disease. I know all too well what it means to be on the side of the patient and know that one more word or a friendly gesture can make a difference. I was struck by the very discourse on sacrifice, everything is hard but it's worth, is an experience that I can give so much! A special thanks to two people: Sandra that always makes us laugh every time and is ready to welcome you with a hug and a thousand commitments Laurina is my example because it reminds me that the exam marks are not doing a good doctor, but mankind. Thanks guys and thanks prof, we needed it!
